Knight’s Banquet in the historic monastery from the 12th century at the foot of the famous Kaiserburg
Let yourselves be treated with a meal that reminds you of the days of robber baron “Eppelein von Gailingen”. Forget about the daily grind and enjoy the times of the 12th century. Be nothing else but the former ordinary “Nuremberg men’s and women’s folk”.
Clean your hands properly before you sit down and take up the knife for this will be your only tool apart of your hands. Where once the nuns feasted, you will be received by the knight’s maid-servants and vassals, serving you dishes you’ll never forget.
The menu will be served with musical entertainment of our bard
- Mead served in a bullock’s horn
- Flat cake with lard, herbal curd and radish
- Home made jellied meat
- Rich beef soup with small dumplings
- Stuffed quail wrapped in bacon fresh from the stove
- Roasted spareribs with cabbage salad and lambs lettuce
- House made Apple-pancakes grandmas style
- The alpine dairyman’s cheese and fruits
We also have vegetarian and vegan alternative menus, as well as menus without pork. Under the old tradition your leftovers will be distributed among the poor and the old. One of the medieval rules is that if you don’t drink to everybody’s health, you’ll be put into the ‚Iron Maiden‘.

Apart of the drinks coming with the menu all beverages are extra.
To the feast the 3 litre Kellerbier-pillar tastes very well (not included). On a full stomach take our home made medizine.
